Comments:I strongly oppose weakening the restriction on automated calling. I also believe that the industy's claim that consumers enjoy receiving automated calls is ludicrous. Allowing companies to increase the use of automated calls will greatly expand the number of unwanted calls that we receive, and will allow companies to profitably place calls to consumers without taking into account whether consumers are likely to respond positively to (and are likely to appreciate) those calls.
