Dear Sirs, I beg of you, please do not eviscerate the do-not-call list by allowing telemarketers without an established business relationship to call me for any reason - including, to play recorded messages. As one of millions of Americans who work from home I cannot express strongly enough how disruptive it is when the phone rings every hour for someone hawking wares. Even if all that's on the other side is a recorded message, the damage is already done. To make matters worse, you wouldn't be able to say at the start "I'm not interested. Please put me on your do-not-call list". Instead, you would have to listen to the entire sales pitch to find the number to call back to make your request. The chances of anyone actually waiting through all that are so slim as to not exist. Hence, this change will render the list completely useless. The last few months have been wonderfully peaceful and productive. Please, I urge you, do NOT changing the do-no-call list and allow these people to infringe on my privacy once again.
