I urge the FTC NOT to loosen regulations for telemarketers. Specifically the proposed amendments which would allow telemarketers to use prerecorded messages to contact customers, as well as that which would change the rate at which they could place these calls (to 3% of calls over a month). In our society we a constantly besieged by advertising and it becomes more invasive everyday. Print and other media advertising can be consumed or ignored by the consumer as they choose without confrontation. Telemarketing on the otherhand is intrustive and distruptive. The Do Not Call list is one of the most lovely things to happen to my living room in a long time. I urge you to not weaken it by passing these amendments. Thank you for your consideration.
