|Subject:||Trade Regulation Rule on Telemarketing Sales|
|Title:||Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Request for Comment|
|CFR Citation:||16 CFR Part 310|
Comments:I strongly oppose any weakening of the restrictions which the Do Not Call list places on telemarketers. It is simply not true to assume that consumers want to receive pre-recorded messages from businesses with which the consumer has only the most tenuous connection. There are other channels for businesses with which I have a real relationship to reach me. It seems insulting at this stage to have to point out that I pay for telephone service as a convenience to myself, not for the general business community.
