Just what is it that you people do not understand about the DO NOT CALL List? It's very simple, it means that telemarketers are NOT TO CALL THE PEOPLE WHOSE NAMES APPEAR ON THE LIST!!! I suppose it's the mandated function of the Federal Trade Commission to be proactive on behalf of BUSINESS INTERESTS but for you people to be advocating a loophole which will legalize ANY unsolicited telemarketing calls SUCKS! Kindly remember that the FTC is an agency that exists as an arm of the United States Government, which in itself exists TO SERVE THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES. Many of those citizens have had their names placed on the Do Not Call List believing what they had been told, that by having their name on the list they WOULD NO LONGER BE CALLED BY TELEMARKETERS. So I urge the FTC to stand up for the CITIZENS of the USA, not the telemarketers! DO THE RIGHT THING, abandon any advocacy for ammendments to the Do Not Call legislation which would permit ANY dilution of its provisions as now in effect. Sincerely yours, G. Meyer
