Advertisers are fully able to, and already use the mails to solicit business from prior customers. This is fully adequate from a customer viewpoint. Accordingly, they should not be allowed to circumvent the intent of the do not call listings! In fact, a number of dialing systems already allow our phone to ring up to 2 times before their (inadequate) software shuts down the connection. That's just enough time to cause us to rise and approach the phone to answer it. Totally unacceptable! DON'T CHANGE THE EXISTING RULES! Hans Naumann
