This seems to be a ploy to mollify the telemarketing industry, not to serve the public. I strongly oppose it. I find recorded calls just as intrusive as calls from individuals. In fact, they're even more irritating, because they can be misrepresented to imply "an important business matter" by the recorded voice, when they actually refer to the urgent matter of needing to sell me a water softener. And I already have a water softener, thank you. PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW THIS MODIFICATION. LEAVE US ALONE. IF WE'RE ON A DO NOT CALL LIST, WE DON'T WANT TO BE CALLED, BY A HUMAN OR BY A COMPUTER. By the way, I vote in every election, and I will be watching what happens with this. I know that the FTC is appointed, but those who appoint you are elected.
