When a telemarketer calls, I always, always, ALWAYS decline even if I am a customer of theirs. I look forward to getting phone calls from family and friends and neighbors, but a solicitor or one who's taking surveys or anybody I don't know who wants something from me is irritating. If I want to buy something, I'll go get it myself. In my opinion, sales calls are a waste of money and time and should be illegal altogether. When someone that I don't know comes to my front door, I know they are selling something and I don't answer it(unless it is a child), but I have no way of knowing who is on the phone.(Yes I could get caller ID, but that doesn't always help and it costs more money.) It is an invasion of my privacy for any solicitor to call me. I do not like recorded messages, I don't want them, and I hang up on them immediately. I hope the FTC decides NOT to make it possible for me to receive more of these types of calls, it would be a further invasion and irritation.
