There are many ways of staying in touch with customers with whom you have a pre-existing relationship. Businesses have mailing lists (for email and snail mail) and we should be "opting-in" for any additional correspondence, rather than being forced to "opt-out." Who is benefiting from the rule change? Not the consumer. And I know that if I am irritated enough by a business' marketing practices, I take my business elsewhere. So is it really benefitting anyone other than the actual telemarketing firms? Please don't open the floodgates.
