I am very opposed to the proposed revision. Any telephone call requires me to stop what I am doing to answer the phone. It is even more annoying when I have been imposed upon by a machine. Residential telephones should be for the private use and communication by the residents and not used as a telemarketing device. It is intrusive, invasive and unnecessary.
