I think the Do No Call registry is one of the best things that has been done for the consumer. The proposed changes to allow companies to bombard us with prerecorded messages is a giant step backward. It show absolutely no concern for the consumer. I am an existing customer of dozens of businesses. This rule change will waste my time and breed ill will toward businesses that use it. It will be inescapable unless people opt to go without phone service. Not only is a a waste of people's time, it can also harm in other ways. My elderly mother broke her arm while answering a telemarketer's call. Solicitation calls have affected my productivity at home and at work. Please do not change the current law unless it is to restrict political parties from using telemarketing techniques.
