I am most emphatically opposed to amending the Telemarketing Sales Rule to allow pre-recorded messages to be sent to customers of marketers. The enourmous response of citizens in signing up for protection under the original rule should be adequate proof that allowing the proposed safe harbour would not be in the public interest.
