I absolutely do not favor the proposed "loophole" changes to the Do Not Call list to allow prerecorded messages. Those are even worse than live calls as you cannot discuss the reasons you do not want the call, ask for a supervisor, etc. Prerecorded messages leave alot more room for fraud and I think are used more often in shady companies in my past experience with telemarketers before the Do Not Call list. I AM ABSOLUTELY AGAINST IT FOR CELL PHONES as I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE CALL. I do not have unlimited minutes. Any telemarketer who calls me in any way will lose whatever business I do with them, be they credit card, bank, utility, etc..VERY BAD IDEA. I am a Home Health Medical Professional and if my pager, phones, voicemails are clogged with telemarketers it hinders my ability to provide good care. Do Not Do This, Please!
