I am opposed to any relaxing of the present restrictions. In fact, I think automated calling should be outlawed altogether. These automated "robocalls" pose a serious potential safety hazard. Even if I hang up on them, if I pick up my receiver, they are still there until they finish their message. Only then is the connection broken. What happens in case of a life-threatening emergency? What if I have to wait even 30 seconds to call 911 while I am waiting for a robocall from some credit card or mortgage company to clear my phone line? We will be watching closely to see if the FTC caves in to this most odious of special interest groups. Thank you.
