The current do not call list is one of the few immediate and concrete effective government creations that works! I signed up for it and saw an IMMEDIATE impact. I had been getting an average of 5 phone calls a day (I kept track over a 2 month period) from telemarketers. All of these calls were unsolicited, unwanted, bothersome, intrusive and often came around dinner time. When the do not call list went into effect the number of these types of calls dropped to zero overnight. Family time was restored, I did not have to talk to unwanted and pushy telemarketers who invaded my home with unwanted calls. Please do not permit the current law to be amended as is currently being proposed. I don;t want to receive these calls again, even if they are prerecorded and would allow a consumer to opt out. I already opted out by voluntarily adding my name to the list!
