I signed up for the national donotcall.gov list and that really helped to cut off these annoying, disturbing intrusions. Please do not allow telemarketers an easy way around this, and end-run so to speak. The public response to the do not call list was overwhelming. We don't want our lives disrupted by these calls. We have enough junk mail, spam email, etc to deal with. There are many ways to market to us without having the phone ring. I can't think of anything worse than having a machine call me to leave a message. Please do NOT approve the telemarketing petition.
