Telemarketing Sales Rule Amendment If a person put their name on a DoNotCall List for telemarketers, it is very obvious that person does not want to be contacted by telemarketers. Leaving a message on an answering machine is allowing telemarketers to contact, by phone, the very people who have already plainly stated they do not want to be contacted. If a company wants to contact a "customer", they certainly have the mail system to use. Please do not allow the telemarketers to abuse our phone service that is paid for by private citizens. If you do allow this amendment to pass, please add an amendment that would force the telemarketers to pay for part of a person's phone bill for each call they place to that number. Why should I have to pay for their advertizing venue?
