I am opposed to changes that will make it easier for telemarketers to leave messages on my voice mail or answering machine. This type of message takes voice mail or answering machine capacity for which I pay and can prevent legitimate callers from being able to leave messages. The national "do not call" list is popular, because many of us do not want to receive telephone solicitations. There are already enough loopholes in the current law. This appears to be an attempt by telemarketers to create the voice mail equivalent to "spam" e-mail, i.e., make it easy and cheap to deliver messages in very high volumes. and provide little way to prevent it.
