I was so relieved when I placed my name and number on the "do not call" list. What a difference it made. I suffer from a sleep disorder. I go all night without any sleep often. If I am lucky, I can try to sleep on my days off if I have to, or sleep when I can. I also have family members who may need to contact me in an emergency. I should not have to turn my phone off to protect myself from these people at the expense of my health and my family. I have the right to leave the phone on them for them. I used to have 20 or more calls or nuisance messages a DAY, but no more. I have maybe 10 a month now. Now - you want a loop-hole to allow people I do business with to send me pre-recorded messages? I don't think so. I am perfectly able to contact the people I do business with to conduct business with them at my convenience. Just as people who knock at my door are invited to do so by me, that is how I feel about my phone ringing 7am to 9pm. I do not answer my door to strangers. I do not want strangers contacting me by phone.
