The outcome of the proposed amendment to lift restrictions on pre-recorded telemarketing and solicited calls deeply concerns me. As it is, I feel like I am being harassed by unwanted phone calls and fear that the proposed changes would create an even greater sense of inconvenience, disruptance, and stress to my life. As a consumer, I am very selective about what personal information I give out and to whom. When presented with the opportunity to decline providing personal information, I do. In addition, I refrain from participating in any sweepstakes, online surveys, or any other give-away type gymmicks in order to avoid being contacted from solicitors and still am contacted on a daily basis despite all my efforts. Please, do not pass this legislation. The current situation concerning solicited calls is already unbearable and out-of-control. Do not add to the problem! Thank you for your time and consideration.
