I wish to express my strong opposition to the proposed amendment that would permit telemarketers to deliver prerecorded messages to consumers. The Do Not Call registration has almost completely eliminated unwanted sales solicitations from my telephone. This proposed amendment would be a step backward, and would almost surely result in an accumulation of unwanted spam messages on my telephone answering machine. I strongly urge that this amendment be disapproved.
