With 62 million people signing up on the "no call" registry, it seems that this should have been a resounding vote for privacy. I have been very happy that the nuisance of telemarketing calls has stopped, however, now it seems that the government has decided that pre-recorded messages are ok. If there is any information that I care to have or anyone I care to contact, I am perfectly capable of doing it on my own. I DO NOT need strangers calling my home offering any kind of goods or services. Unless, of course, the head of the FTC going to make him/herself available to either answer my phone or retrieve messages. Is someone in the FTC on the payroll of the telemarketers? Hmm, wouldn't that be a surprise?
