This should *NOT* be permitted. This will severely disrupt life and cause health problems for disabled people like me if we are constantly harrassed by telemarketing recorded messages. They will tie up the phone which needs to be available for emergency calls and reaching doctors. Those messages never disconnect. You cannot use the phone to call for emergency help until the telemarketing call disconnects. This could cost someone their life. This has already happened to me where I could not make an emergency call because the recorded message would not disconnect, even after I had hung up! Many times I turn my phone off and use my answering machine. I need to be able to receive messages from doctors and other health care providers. My answering machine has only so much space. I can't afford to have it filled up with garbage calls. I do *NOT* want to be harrassed by companies selling things I cannot afford to buy. I don't want the privacy and sanctity of my home violated by these calls. If I want to buy something, I will contact someone. If you allow this to go through, I hope you are hounded to death by these calls and can never use your phone to make or receive calls because of them. It would serve you right!
