I feel that as long as I am paying for my phone service, and that any unsolicited calls consume a portion of the minutes allowed under my current local service calling program, that these solicitations are taking something of value from me. These pre recorded calls are picked up by my answering machine and consume a portion of my alloted time. I also feel the same way regarding calls to cell phones. As long as I have to pay for all the minutes in my plan. I am against any unsolicited use by business or charities or political campaigns, be they federal, state, or local. I feel these telemarketing firms are getting a free ride because of the nature of the US phone market, especially the cellular phone market. Unless they pay for the airtime minutes they consume for these calls, I am against any and all unsolicited business calls to my home or cell phone.
