To whom it may concern, I am totally opposed to any rule change that you are contemplating that would allow telemarketers to make pre-recorded calls to my home phone# or cell phone# in the way that is being preposed. You finally did the right thing at the behest of congress and millions of consumers across the country by tightening up the rules on telemarketing. What you prepose would, in many ways, gut what you have just done. At the very least you could mandate that there be a universal phone# that people can call so that they can opt of these types of obnoxious messages all at once. The problem here is that the technology being used now would basically allow those of us that don't want to be bothered with all kinds of pre-recorded garbage and it will be very difficult to call all those individual companies and tell them to quit calling. My suggestion, instead of rolling over on this one, at least require that there be a universal phone# that people can call to opt out this type of garbage. The public has spoken and the public has said "no" to this type of thing. If your agency loosens up the rules and guts what it has so succesfully done, I guess that we will have to turn to congress. Sincerly, Scott Stephenson
