Hello FTC, 66 million Americans have already spoken - we wish to be left alone. I understand that Direct Marketing Associates is actually arguing that we will welcome their calls. Perhaps the FTC could suggest to them that they run ads in major newspapers, on TV, etc., letting the public know that they are ready and able to provide us with these "welcome" calls and telling us how to contact them and get on their "Please Call Me" list. Presumably they will be happy to do that, since so many of us will be delighted to receive their calls. On a personal note, before the Do Not Call list was established, it was not unusual for me to get up to 8 or 9 of these calls a day. Since then, I have acquired cancer. As a result, I have spent a number of days at home in bed. I may or may not die. Please do not condemn me to having my phone ring all day, day after day, while I am dying. If you allow these companies to chip away at the rules, they will not stop. Thank you for your consideration, Ellen Miller
