I hate interrupting what I am doing, running to answer the phone and then finding out it is a pre-recorded message. It is disgusting that any such intrusions are allowed. It is obscene the FTC proposes to extend them so as to undermine the do-not-call list. One single company may have relations with tens or hundreds of other companies. No doubt these will sooner or later be defined as having a "business relationship" with me. As for relaxing the "abandoned call" provisions, I do not believe even the current ones are being enforced. I still get calls and more than half are abandoned by the time I answer. The FTC should stop accepting any rule proposals from the DMA, its officers or representatives. Your job is to represent all the individual citizens.
