Please do not let the telemarketers start calling me again. These people should not be given the right to call me using a service and equipment that I pay for without my express invitation or permission. I should be able to choose whether or not I participate in any form of advertising. Telemarketing removes this choice, forcing interruptions and tying up phone lines and answering machine memory. Even with caller id located conveniently nearby it is virtually impossible to tell whether an incoming call is an advertisement or not. Please allow me to retain a semblance of privacy if I so choose. Do not allow greedy advertisers to abuse a public resource by calling people who don't want to talk to or be bothered by them.
