This is a terrible idea. During the recent political campaign I received many automated campaign calls. Most came in when I was not at home, and were answered by my answering machine. It is extremely frustrating to have to listen to a long political message on an answering machine -- espeically when callin in to get messages from another phone -- in order to get to what may be an mportant message after the political message. Luckily this only happens during campaign season. Please don't let it become a year-round phenomonon. I remember what it was like before the no-call registry. My home phone received several automated calls each week. Each one was an annoyance. If business with which I have a relationship wants to contact me they have several choices: postal mail, email, or a human being over the phone. That should be sufficient. Another major annoyance are calls that might be from human beings, but no one ever gets on at the other end. I suppose these are machine-dialed calls. I receive at least one of these each week, where the caller never speaks. (There may well be more, as my answering machine indicates several callers each week who don't leave messages.) Please, don' t make annoying calls like this -- where the caller never gets on the line -- more likely. In my opinion they are an intrusive nuisance and shouldn't be permitted at all! Thank you for your consideration, /Andrew Funk
