I have opted out once. I do not wish to have to do so repeatedly. It is ridiculous to consider amending the Do Not Call Registry to allow more telemarketing calls, and simply shows the power that the telemarketing lobby has in Washington. If I want to contact a business, I am perfectly capable of calling or writing them. I do not need or want to hear pre-recorded messages from telemarketers. Personally, I would also prefer not to hear these messages from politicians, either, but somehow I doubt that will ever be written into the law. I am fast losing all respect for the FTC based on this proposed change. Grow a backbone and stand up to the lobbyists!
