|Subject:||Trade Regulation Rule on Telemarketing Sales|
|Title:||Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Request for Comment|
|CFR Citation:||16 CFR Part 310|
Comments:Please do not make this unwise change in this fine program. Here are my reasons: 1. People will not perceive that they can ask a recording to stop calling. In this case, recorded messages are more bothersome than "live" messages. 2. Companies can be expected to push the "established relationship" clause far beyond what you now envision. 3. The disruption to home and family life is just as annoying with a recorded message as with a live message. 4. The FTC's charge is to represent the consumer, not to make life easier for telemarketers. Thank you.
