Why do I have caller ID? So I won't have to listen to unwelcome, harassing, iritating, unsolicited, and time consuming telemarketers. I do not answer calls that say UNKNOWN NAME, UNKNOWN NUMBER nor do I answer calls that are from numbers and listings that I do not recognize. I resent the fact that I even need caller ID. I long for the days when the caller on the other end is a friend or relative only. I am also against recorded messages left on the answering machine. Again, it is irritating and a waste of time and answering machine space. It's bad enough when your answering machine is full of hang ups from telemarketers! I am strongly against watering down the rules concerning calls from telemarketers and wish they were even more stringent. Thank you, Cheryl S. Jones
