Re: Proposed changes to the Do Not Call Registry rules In behalf of the Florida local government agency where I serve, I write in opposition to any changes to the DNC Registry that would allow recorded messages to be sent to phone numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry. These proposed changes would violate the very spirit of the Registry. With new technology such as VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) unsolicited phone calls and email spam is guaranteed to increase in the coming years. This intrusion is especially costly to governmental agencies wnich supply cell phones to their staff to be used for official business only, but which would be subjected to unwanted commercial messages from marketig firms. Not only would this cause an increased expense on our cell phone bills, but it also requires staff time to listen and determine if the message is pertinent to their official business. Please do not approve any such measure, but maintain our privacy for the good of all and bar the use of to use of public resources for private commercial purposes. Thank you for your consideration.
