I hate to be called by telemarketers, either live or recorded. If I do receive an unwanted call, I immediately put that business or charitible organization on my personal "never do business with them" list, so it doesn't do the business or organization any good to call me. Even though I am enrolled on the national and Kansas Do Not Call registeries, I still receive an occasional call but not to the extent that I did previously. The recorded calls that take up space on my answering machine are the worst because the recorded message starts before my machine starts recording the message, so I don't even hear who the call is from. I realize that for many people, especially the physically handicapped, this is the only type of work they can do and I hate to see their source of income cut off because no one wants to receive their calls. However, if telemarketers had not become such a nuisance by calling too frequently and making potential customers angry, there might never have been a Do Not Call registery established. Please do not allow telemarketers a loophole so that they can call me.
