Comments:
I am strongly opposed to the FTC creating an additional call abandonment safe harbor to allow telemarketing calls that deliver a prerecorded message to consumers even when the seller has an established business relationship with the consumer. In fact, these automated calls are even more objectionable to me than calls from a live person. They are intrusive and impersonal. Being called by a machine is a jarring invasion of my privacy and my humanity. I strongly urge the FTC to prevent the further erosion of privacy and humanness in American culture by blocking the continued attempts by telemarketers to invade the lives of people in these unnatural ways.
