What part of "DO NOT CALL" does the US government not understand? We, the American public have signed up for this in droves. This clearly indicates that we do not want to be harrassed in our homes by anyone, for any reason. There is no legitimate reason to even consider this petition by the very industry that we are trying desperately to avoid. Read again - NO EXCEPTIONS. If you want to consider amending this, why don't you follow the will of the American public and REMOVE the current exceptions, which directly contradict what we asked for? A company with which I have done business should be allowed to call me about that business transaction alone, not to use that as an excuse to solicit me for 90 days or 18 months or any other period of time. We do not want to be solicited by politicians or charities or anyone else. I do not pay for a phone so it can be used as a way for annoying strangers to invade my home. It's not the "do not call, except for this long list of allowed harrassment list." You people know this. Stop pretending that "Do Not Call" means something else. It makes the government look stupid, or sleazy, or both.
