I am appalled that after all the national attention and support expressed for the "do not call" list to stop telemarketers from invading our homes via phone lines, you would consider these new proposals. My family certainly does NOT want commercials taking up space on our voice mail or answering machine. If I listen to commercial radio or watch commercial TV, I will tolerate commercial advertising that pays for the shows I am interested in. They are not paying a cent for my phone bill or my answering machine, and I do not want to have to hear even one a year! Businesses figured out lots of ways to advertise before telemarketing, and before everyone had anwering machines. It is their problem to be creative about how to do it now. It is not their right to intrude their commercials into our private spaces!
