|Subject:||Trade Regulation Rule on Telemarketing Sales|
|Title:||Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Request for Comment|
|CFR Citation:||16 CFR Part 310|
Comments:NO, NO, NO!!! This proposal is absolutely horrendous! Prerecorded messages are the worst of all because you cannot respond. These messages can be sent out to anyone, they won't care or know if you if you have an established relationship. There would be no way to let anyone know that you don't want these messages. And I am sure they would come in at dinner time. We finally got a decent law. Let's not poke holes in it. If this passes, it will only be a short time when others want to do the same. Don't establish a precedent! This recorded message idea should never have been considered in the first place! The current law was passed because we need some semblance of peace and quiet and privacy in our homes and know that when we answer our telephone that it is not advertising--and recorded messages are the worst.
