The "Do Not Call" registry is one of the great consumer triumphs of my generation. Unwanted marketing calls were so pervasive I stopped answering the phone and let calls go straight to the answering machine. Now I answer the phone again and talk with people I want to talk to, thanks to the success of the Do Not Call registry. Please DO NOT WATER IT DOWN. I don't want a machine calling me; I hang up as soon as I detect a recorded message -- I don't care who is calling or what the offer is! Please. Consumers are trampled upon every day by big business. Please preserve this small little refuge!!!!! Thank you.
