I am very much AGAINST the proposed amendment--Docket ID RIN 3084-0098--allowing prerecorded message telemarketing calls. Prerecorded calls are no different than calls from a live telemarketer: they are unwanted and loathesome. Plus, I would expect that the telemarketers are going to make it as difficult as possible for consumers to opt out of these calls, either by not identifying themselves and providing opt-out information until the end of the message (so the consumer has to listen to the whole message) or simply omitting information about how to opt out. By signing up for the Do Not Call Registry, I made a statement that I do not wish to receive ANY telemarketing calls. I have not changed my mind, and do not appreciate the DMA trying to even partially dishonor my request. Please reject this proposed amendment.
