I AM ABSOLUTELY AGAINST receiving pre-recorded/automated solicitation calls of any sort. Many Reasons: Most Important: I am on the Federal Do Not Call list for a reason. I do NOT want to be bothered. If I am interesting in a purchase, service, etc. I will do my own research. Second: Pre-recorded calls will be more odious than live calls. The ones I received during the election campaign season tied up my phone line!!! I could not break he connection til the recording was complete. Aside from the inconvenience this imposed I have an extremely emotional reason to keep my lines available. I have 2 sons in the USMC. The hours they tend to call are the same hours most telemarketing is done. Furthermore, both will soon be deloyed to nasty places in the world. I DO NOT WANT TO MISS ANY CALL THEY MAY BE ABLE TO MAKE!!!!! Thirdly: Pre-recorded calls will not do anything for the economy. Telemarketing companies must love this. If the FTC is so stupid to allow this then telemarketing companies can still call all they want incurring less expense using an automated system with the need for fewer live callers. STOP THIS NOW, NOW, NOW. LISTEN TO WHAT CITIZENS WANT FOR A CHANGE!!! OVER 70 MILLION ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST NOW MUST MEAN SOMETHING ... ARE YOU BEAUROCRATS LISTENING???!!!??? EARN YOUR KEEP!!!
