Comments:
I strongly object to any changes in the Do Not Call registry that would allow telemarketers to call my telephone to leave recorded messages. It will defeat the very purpose of the Do Not Call registry and put all of us right back in the position of feeling harassed by telemarketers. It will perhaps be even worse because we will be unable to say to a human being that we wish to be taken off their call list. Since registering my home telephone on the Do Not Call registry, my telephone now rings much less often and almost always from someone I want to take a call from. I have registered my cell phone on the Do Not Call registry in hopes that my cell phone will continue to ring only because someone I gave the number to wishes to talk with me. The FCC will be doing me a great disservice by undermining what has been a very successful piece of legislation.
