I am against this proposed amendment. I do NOT want the federal government, via the FTC or FCC or any other agency, to permit recorded telemarketing phone calls at all. I pay for my phone and my phone line for my use exclusively. I do not pay for it for the convenience of telemarketers. In addition, such recorded systems do not permit the recipient to request to be put on the company's Do Not Call list unless a call back number or web address is given, however in this day and age of Spam, few people would ever feel comfortable calling back any number provided or going to an unknown website in order to opt out of a list.
