Comments:
I strongly oppose the creation of an additional call abandonment safe harbor to allow telemarketing calls that deliver a prerecorded message to consumers with whom the seller on whose behalf the calls are made has an established business relationship. I strongly request that the FTC NOT change any rules that would allow MORE telemarketing to consumers or weaken the DO NOT CALL list. There is no evidence that people want to be bombarded by more advertising, rather there is evidence that over 60 million people DO NOT WANT TELEMARKETING in any form. Automated messages are particularly annoying and disruptive to privace and peace and quiet at home. Please do not allow any more automated calls to so called pre-existing consumer relationships. That is a charade and only profits the Telemarketing businesses, providing NO real service to consumers. Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
