|Subject:||Trade Regulation Rule on Telemarketing Sales|
|Title:||Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Request for Comment|
|CFR Citation:||16 CFR Part 310|
Comments:Please do not defeat the one throughly effective defense consumers have against these annoying messages. Telemarketing businesses have proven repeatedly that they will not take consumers interests into mind when it comes to marketing. Do not allow Direct Marketing Association's pettition to be approved and do not amend the Telemarketing Sales Rule; both actions fly in the face of the original intent of the "Do Not Call" list. Email spam is killing email for legitimate business communication and phone spam would do the same for telephone communications. Do not make business even harder for small businesses and more annoying for consumers by weakening the "Do Not Call" list regulations.
