This proposed tinkering with the way the Do Not Call Registry works would be an affront on all Americans and the recent strides the government has made on our behalf. As an American who is regularly appauled and embarrassed by my government the birth of the registry was a rare source of pride in what the government can do for us. Please don't disturb that. ...And NO, just because I have a pre-existing relationship with a company does NOT mean I like getting calls from them, even pre-recorded messages. I regularly hang up on my credit card companies when they call to push new services on me. Please don't ruin this for everyone because some telemarketing weenies are in denial of the winds of change.
