PLEASE DO NOT allow companies to disturb my family for "pre-recorded message telemarketers", which in my view is anyone calling who is trying to push/ or inform us on a product, service or deal, regardless of how wonderful it may be. I pay for a phone line for my personal use only, not for people trying to make a buck off of me at the callers' convenience. It is always an unwanted inconvenience to my home. Regardless of what the "sales person" has to offer, I DECLINE and ask them to take me off their list, which inlcudes old business companies that I CHOOSE NOT to do business with. I am totally "turned off" by anyone who has to push their product this way. My husband just hangs up on them, it's a shame that we can be abused in our own home this way, daily. The people I feel most abused are the elderly (like my Mom) and handicapped who are not always the most mobile people. They get out of a chair, huff and puff their way up the stairs or hurry in from outside so they don't miss a phone call, only to find at the other end of the phone is a HIGHLY UNWANTED SOLICITOR. No one should wish that daily abuse on anyone nor should it be legal. Perhaps there should be a national volunary list for anyone who wishes to be pestered on their personal phones from eager sales people, that way the rest of us NOT on the list can enjoy our rights. How many do you all think would be eager to volunteer and sign up?
