Comments:
I write to support a further tightening of the telemarketing regulations. Receiving any pre-recorded calls via the phone is a disturbing interruption to my day. It saps productivity because I need to stop whatever work I am doing in order to take the call. Even if I am screening calls, I must stop for a minute and listen to who the caller might be. The loss is not just the time of the interruption, but also getting knocked "off track"--losing the momentum of thought or activity. I would urge that all pre-recorded phone messages be banned, except in time of emergency.
