|Subject:||Trade Regulation Rule on Telemarketing Sales|
|Title:||Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Request for Comment|
|CFR Citation:||16 CFR Part 310|
Comments:Please do not loosen restrictions on telemarketers. The notion that a credit card purchase means that I will welcome unsolicited calls from that merchant is ridiculous. Before the do not call list was implemented, we stopped answering the telephone; we just called back after picking up the message. This was a very irritating situation: paying for a service, but having an irresponsible entity deprive of its full use. Just because telemarketing is profitable doesn't make it right.
