I read today's Chronicle David Lazerus' column, "Do Not Call List Imperiled". The FTC is considering loosening the restrictions on phone solicitations. If you purchase an item from a store with a credit card, you are considered to have a pre-existing relationship with that company, and telemarketers want to be able to solicit you via precorded messages from these companies. I STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH THIS. DO NOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN.
